 Weekly Devotional

Woman and child

"Mothers"

Psalm 139:13 (ESV)

"For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb."

This week is Mother's Day. Where we celebrate and take this day to show our mothers what they mean to us. Now I am not saying that things like this can not happen other day, and you should show you mother's the attention and pampering they deserve when ever you can. Tis day is show the importance of a mother in our lives or even a mother figure. God has given us each a mother that was especially made for us, to be able to be all that we need from them.

John 16:21 (ESV)

"When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world."

Our mother's went through struggles and obstacles for the best live they can give us, they put up with so much so that we don't have suffer because she already has like God has always done for us. In what ever way she brought you in the family birth, C-section, adoption, fostering etc., God has put her as yor mother for a purpose.

Proverbs 1:8 (ESV)

"Hear, my son, your father’s instruction, and forsake not your mother’s teaching,"

Exodus 20:12 (ESV)

“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you"

As a mother they are not only here to care, love and coddle you but to discipline you, teach you and guide you. When you look back and remember the arguments, the groundings, the no and more understand it come from a place a love, to protect to you from harm and danger, to teach you important lessons not to take away your joy. So honor your mother and take the time to show her you love her.
