"Self Control"

Self control is the ability to control oneself, in particular ones emotions and desires or the expression of them in ones behavior , especially in difficult situations. I really really want to  touch on that last part where it says “especially in difficult situations”.  I feel this is the real catch to having self control, there are so many points in our life where it can be so easy to make the wrong choice and slip in to a state of comfort. Most the time the hard choice are usually the right ones. Whether that’s because you feel it’s just easier to do or you’re worried on social status like “will people still like me or is this socially acceptable”. We as Christians need to stop worrying about our reputation because we are more the often gonna be hated on our stance, but Jesus said if the world hates you remember they hated me first. God wants us to be  able to chose the right thing all the time but we can’t do that without Him so He gave us self control. You know God speaks to us all the time it’s just the fact if you want to listen to what He’s saying or if you ignore and listen to the world. We have to be strong in all our choices, pray and decide accordingly to what we think Jesus would want us to do even if that means taking a step into deep waters. Self control is one that I know I should work on and I believe we should all strive to build strength in God and giving all our choices to Him.
