"The Prodigal Son"

When reading the parable of The Prodigal Son we come to understand the story of a man with 2 sons. The youngest asks for his inheritance and leaves, which he then ends up wasting it all, and struggling to keep himself feed without any money. He gets so low at one point he wishes to eat what he feeds to pigs while working to try to earn to eat for himself. During that time he reflects on how his fathers servants where treated and wishes he were them. He is so ashamed at what he has done he is ready to return to his father and beg to be his servant as he no longer believes himself worthy as his son. Imagine feeling like your unworthy of the title of son or daughter, the hurt and shame. Finally seeing his house we starts to walk closer now seeing his father prepared to say what he has practiced only to see his father run to him and embrace him. Here he was thinking his father might have mercy and grant what asks but to his surprise his father prepares to celebrate his return. Its honestly amazing how instead of the father condemning his son he rejoices his sons return and says "My son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost and now he is found." That is what God does with each and every one of us, I mean how absolutely amazing is that. He waits for us to return to Him when we are lost, to no matter what know He is not only waiting for your return but to celebrate that  you have been found. Nothing you do will make God love any less or turn His back on you. He wants you to seek Him out when your ready and will wait patiently. When you think you are unworthy of His love, mercy or forgiveness understand that He had already given the biggest sacrifice so that you can come to Him and wash you of your sins. Know that when you are ready to follow Him, He will be waiting for you ready to embrace and celebrate your return.
