This week I wanted to talk about how we can try to recognize God's voice. often people say the voice in the back of your head that tells you do the the right thing " your conscience" is the Holy Spirit. I believe the way to know for sure that it is God's voice and His will is looking in the Bible. His words should always line up with what He has already said in the Bible. He has given us a guide to everything we could possible question and possibly go through. In Joshua 1:8 (ESV) it says "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success." Everything you need is in the Bible, Ephesians 6:17 " and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God," God gave us a guide, His words are what we should be reading ourselves. Everyone has their own perspective on what a certain verse or preaching is, which is why I urge you to read it yourselves and use it. I am not saying that when you hear preachers and people talk about verses and stories they are teaching wrong, but for you to see what the rest of the words that are not being said are. We commonly see a verse by itself when being taught, instead go back and read the chapters because there are many more things it has to say that can be taken out of context. So I urge you to read the Bible, get familiar with God's words and teachings so that you may recognize His voice better.
