"The Power of Words"
This week I wanted to talk about the power of words. You will see that right in the beginning of the Bible Genesis 1:3 "And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light." All He did was speak and there was. We don't realize the power we hold every time we speak, every time we say we can't, every time your speak down upon yourself and others you start to believe it. in Matthew 8:5 it speaks of the faith that a Centurion had and said to Jesus “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof, but only say the word, and my servant will be healed. 9For I too am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes, and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” When Jesus heard this He was amazed and said to him “Truly, I tell you, with no one in Israel have I found such faith. 11I tell you, many will come from east and west and recline at table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven, 12while the sons of the kingdom will be thrown into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” 13And to the centurion Jesus said, “Go; let it be done for you as you have believed.” And the servant was healed at that very moment." Jesus did this with the power of His word, but also the faith of the man who had come and believed Jesus need only to say his servant was healed and he was. We need to realize the power we have in our words and use them for good, bless others and lift each other up.
